Stretcher Transportation

Stretcher and Gurney Transportation in Los Angeles

When sitting up for a drive isn’t possible, MedGo provides gurney transportation: the rider travels lying down, secured and comfortable, loaded gently through our van’s rear ramp by a trained driver. Careful handling, careful driving, door to door.

When Families and Facilities Book Stretcher Rides

Hospital discharges

A gentle ride home, or on to the next facility, when sitting up isn’t an option.

Facility transfers

Between hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and care homes.

Hospice and comfort care

Quiet, gentle, dignified transportation.

Post-surgical rides

Home safely after a procedure that rules out sitting.

Appointments taken lying down

Imaging and treatment visits for riders who can’t sit upright.

How a Stretcher Ride Works

  1. Tell us about the rider

Condition, pickup, destination, and timing. Stretcher trips take the most planning, so the more notice, the better — at least 24 hours.

  2. We arrive prepared

Your driver comes to the door with the gurney and moves the rider gently and securely.

  3. Loaded and secured

The gurney rolls in through the rear ramp and locks in place for a smooth, careful drive.

  4. Delivered with care

We bring the rider inside at the destination and hand off properly — never a rushed drop-off.

What Every Ride Includes

  • Door-to-door assistance

From inside your pickup to inside your destination. We tell the front desk you’ve arrived.

  • One rider at a time

Never a shared van. A family member or caregiver is welcome to ride along; mention it when you book.

  • A trained, vetted driver

Background-checked, CPR and First Aid certified, and trained in passenger assistance and wheelchair securement.

  • Clear communication

One number for everything: booking, questions, and day-of updates. Calls and texts both work.

  • A straightforward quote

Your price is clear before you book. Credit card, Zelle, and Venmo accepted.

Common Questions

Who is stretcher transportation for?

Riders who can’t sit upright for a drive: hospital discharges, hospice care, recovery after surgery, and appointments that have to happen lying down.

How does the rider get into the van?

Lying down, on a gurney we bring to the door. The rider never has to climb, sit up, or shuffle to a seat.

How much notice do you need?

More than any other ride — at least 24 hours, and the earlier the better. Stretcher trips involve timing with discharges and facilities at both ends, so call as soon as you know the date.

Can a facility book on a patient’s behalf?

Yes. Discharge planners and facility staff use the same number — call or text with the pickup, destination, and timing, and we’ll coordinate with your team.

What keeps the rider safe on the road?

The gurney is locked to the van and the rider is secured to the gurney. Every driver is background-checked, certified in CPR and First Aid, and trained in passenger assistance. And we drive like it matters, because it does.
